Snowshoeing and Husky – Frozen River Hike
The aim of this three-hour snowshoe trek is to have a close-up experience of the silent Arctic nature.
Join us for a delightful three-hour snowshoe trek along the Alta River. On our three-hour Snowshoeing and Husky – Frozen River Hike, we set off from our HQ in Øvre Alta. In the winter landscape, where snow covers the ground like a sparkling blanket, you will experience the fresh air and the unique Arctic silence. One of our huskies will pull the equipment by sled and provide nice company on this adventure.
We explore the pine forest along the banks of the frozen Alta River. We will not only enjoy the beautiful landscape but also learn about the tracks of the animals and birds that live here. Er often see tracks left by moose, hares and foxes.
Our experienced guides will share fascinating stories about Alta and the Alta River, which has been a lifeline for the area throughout time. We will also see how the landscape was formed by the ice that covered the entire region 10,000 years ago.
When we find a suitable place, we will have a break to enjoy hot coffee or tea brewed over a log fire. The wonderful aroma of steaming drinks and smoke from the fire mix with the fresh air. Combined with a tasty snack, this creates a perfect opportunity to gather impressions and share experiences.
This is not just a trip. It’s an opportunity to disconnect from everyday life, enjoy nature, and create memories with your friends or family. Join us for an experience filled with beautiful nature, learning and hygge (cosiness and contentment) in the winter wonderland!
