This is winter – Alta

Alta is renowned as a destination that provides winter adventures of high quality. A quick check of TripAdvisor will confirm this. This package combines the best Alta has to offer in the space of five days and features products from four different providers, all of whom have a reputation for delivering the highest quality.

For the activities provided by our partners, you will be picked up at Glød HQ, given the necessary instruction, clothing and safety equipment and dropped back after a wonderful adventure.

This package is also suitable for children from age 9-10. (We have small fatbikes and children’s skis.)

Transfers

All transfers for activities are included. Also pickup from and transfer back to the airport.

Accommodation

You spend the first three nights in our stylish Aurora Canvas Dome or in GLØD Boutique Apartment, both are situated in a small pine forest on the fringes of the “England forest” behind Glød HQ.

We and our architect believe this takes glamping to a whole new level! The dome features a large and extremely comfortable Wonderland bed, nice down duvets, a wood-burning stove, underfloor heating, electricity from renewable sources and Wi-Fi. The wall facing northwards and much of the roof are transparent, which enables you to experience the Northern Lights, weather, wind, small birds and squirrels from the warm and cosy atmosphere. Each dome has its own toilet and wash-hand basin.

Alternatively, you can stay in our modern and stylish GLØD Boutique Apartment, which is also an excellent option for families.

You will spend the last night at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. We guarantee you won’t forget your nights in Alta either!

A taste of Dog sledding at Trasti&Trine

We provide brief and precise instructions about how to drive a dog sled before we enter the dog enclosure, where many happy Alaskan huskies are waiting to meet you.

Fjord & Whale Safari incl. transfer

From late October to late January some of the world’s biggest mammals visit the coast outside the North Norwegian coast to feed on herrings. The most common whale species are the humpback whale, killer whale (orca), harbour porpoise and sometimes even the fin whale.

Every year in November/December, Sorrisniva builds the unique Igloo Hotel. They shape freshly frozen ice into the most beautiful sculptures, and a completely new and unique hotel is created. Every April everything melts and turns to water completing the natural cycle.

GLØD Boutique Apartment

Enjoy our elegant Glød Boutique Apartment, located in the pine forest in direct connection with the Aurora Canvas Domes and the Glød HQ. It is a sporty studio style apartment which can sleep up to 4 (6) people. Perfect starting point for outdoor activities and also a pick up point for other activity suppliers in Alta.
